This Edwardian detached home in Esher, Surrey, underwent a single-storey rear extension and full ground-floor renovation by Thames Design & Build, creating a generous open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space across the rear of the property. The extension spans the full width of the house, topped with a duo-pitched zinc roof and two large skylights that draw natural light deep into the space throughout the day. A full-width bi-fold door system opens onto the garden, creating a seamless connection between the interior and the outdoor patio.
The kitchen features bespoke shaker cabinetry in deep navy blue alongside crisp white upper units, white quartz worktops, and a large central island with breakfast bar seating. Crittall-style internal glazed sliding doors connect the new extension to the existing hallway, maintaining an open, light-filled feel across the ground floor. The project was delivered entirely by our in-house team, covering structural works, underfloor heating, bespoke joinery, plastering, decorating, landscaping, and all first and second fix trades.
